Autoimmune Issues

I have had autoimmune skin issues and endocrine issues that have been healed through the carnivore diet. It certainly took time and not everyone will be able to cure their issues. However, the carnivore diet can help improve their symptoms.

In groups that I belong to, I have heard people talk about healing many of their autoimmune issues. Here is a list of issues I have heard people talk about: (I cured the one’s in bold)

Adrenal Insufficiency
Celiac Disease
Graves’ Disease
Guillain-Barre Syndrome
Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis
Myasthenia Gravis
Rheumatoid Arthritis

I had Tertiary Adrenal Insufficiency (TAI). Other types are Addison’s Disease (AD) and Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency (SAI).

Like AD and SAI, symptoms include irritability, depression, low blood pressure, extreme levels of fatigue, and darkening of the skin. Adrenal Insufficiency is a disease in which the body does not create sufficient quantiles of the stress hormone, Cortisol. While too much can cause issues, too little can be deadly. Anyone with Adrenal Insufficiency must take steroid replacement such as hydrocortisone, which I used to take.

SAI and TAI usually occur because the pituitary gland in the brain fails to create adequate quantities of signaling hormones that tell the adrenal glands to start producing.

I cured my TAI by eating meat, getting adequate fat, completely eliminating grains, seed oils, fruit and veggies, getting off statins, and supporting my adrenal recovery with a functional medicine nutritionist. In the beginning I was able to reduce my steroid intake until I was at zero.

I also had asthma and eczema related to the autoimmune issues in my body. Again, I was able to get off all medication, heal my lungs and skin by eating meat, getting adequate fat, and completely eliminating grains, seed oils, fruit and veggies.
